This document explains fully and transparently what you purchase when ordering a star dedication: the nature of the service, the content supplied, and the legal and scientific limits of the association between the chosen name and the star.

Please read it carefully before placing an order. The version accepted at the time of purchase is retained as evidence of acceptance.
1. Seller identity
The service described in this document is supplied by Cortx EOOD, with registered office at Bul. Tsar Boris III n. 165A, piano 4, uff. 11, 1618 Sofia (rione Krasno selo), Bulgaria, VAT number BG208805445 and EIK/UIC 208805445.

2. Nature of the service
A star dedication is a creative, personalised and commemorative service: the name and date you choose are connected symbolically to a real star identified through public astronomical catalogues.
The price paid covers only the selection of the celestial object from the internal catalogue, personalisation of the content, entry in the A Star For You Private Registry (the seller’s private database), production of the digital content and, where included in the order, production of the personalised physical item.
No part of the price is paid for a transfer of the star or for rights of any kind in the celestial object.
3. Star identification
Each dedicated star is identified by an astronomical catalogue identifier shown in the dedication documents together with its coordinates and constellation.
Astronomical data may be updated over time by its source. We retain the source and retrieval date for each item of data, while the scientific snapshot at the time of dedication is frozen in the retained dedication version so that the documents remain reproducible.
The catalogue identifier is always shown in the documents; the symbolic name never replaces it.
4. Meaning of the dedication
The dedication has an exclusively symbolic, personal and commemorative meaning. It is a poetic gesture celebrating a person, a relationship or a moment.
The dedication does not and cannot alter the star’s scientific identifier, which remains the identifier assigned by astronomical catalogues.
5. Private Registry
The association between the chosen name and the star is retained in the A Star For You Private Registry, a record managed exclusively by the seller.
Uniqueness is guaranteed only within the A Star For You Private Registry: each dedication is connected to one star and each assigned star to one dedication.
The A Star For You Private Registry is not an official astronomical catalogue and has no scientific or legal effect outside the service.
6. No ownership or official naming
Purchasing a dedication does not, under any circumstances, involve:
- the transfer of ownership or possession rights in the star or any other celestial object;
- the grant of real, exclusive or usage rights in the celestial object;
- the ability to exploit the celestial object economically or commercially;
- the assignment of a scientific designation to the star;
- recognition of the dedication by any public, scientific or astronomical body.
The product is not a title of ownership. No dedication document constitutes or may be used as evidence of rights in the celestial object.
7. No affiliation
The service is not affiliated with, approved, sponsored or recognised by any astronomical or space organisation, observatory, university or public authority. In particular, there is no affiliation with or approval by the International Astronomical Union, any national or international space agency, or any other public or scientific body.
References to astronomical data sources in this document and in the dedication materials identify provenance only. They do not imply collaboration with or endorsement by the bodies that manage those sources.
8. Observation and visibility
Information about observing the star, including magnitude, position and the best period, is supplied solely for information and education.
Visibility of the star is not guaranteed and depends on factors outside the service’s control:
- weather conditions and atmospheric transparency;
- light pollution at the observation location;
- season, time and geographical position;
- the star’s magnitude and the observation equipment available.
Many stars in the catalogue are not visible to the naked eye and may require binoculars or a telescope. The observation guide supplied with every dedication states the star’s magnitude and gives practical guidance on equipment.
9. Purchased content
Depending on the product selected, each order includes:
- the digital Dedication Certificate;
- the digital astronomical dossier, whose extent depends on the reliable data available;
- the personalised sky map, supplied digitally and, for print products, physically;
- the digital observation guide;
- for print products, the personalised framed print made to order by the printing partner.
The order summary shown before payment and repeated in the confirmation identifies the purchased content definitively.
10. Personalised products and withdrawal
The ordinary withdrawal period is 14 days. The applicable starting point and any statutory exclusion depend on the individual order component, as explained in the Terms of Sale.
Dedication products are made to order or clearly personalised using the details you provide, such as the name, date, message and observation location.
Where the legal conditions apply, the right of withdrawal for distance purchases may not be exercisable for those goods, as explained in the Terms of Sale.
Any exclusion of the right of withdrawal does not affect your statutory rights in relation to defects or non-conformity.
A preview of the personalised content is always shown before payment. Review it carefully because production uses the details you approve.
11. Digital content
Personalised digital content is produced immediately after payment confirmation, and only after you have expressly requested immediate performance during checkout.
We retain the version of the information accepted, the date and time of acceptance, and technical evidence of the declarations made, as evidence that the information obligations were met.
12. Physical products and shipping
Physical products are made by printing partners on a print-on-demand basis. Each item is produced specifically for your order.
If the order contains different items, they may arrive in separate consignments. This possibility is always stated in the cart before payment.
Production and delivery times are estimates, not guarantees. Details are given on the Shipping page and in the Terms of Sale.
13. Personalisation errors
You are responsible for the accuracy of the details entered and approved in the preview, including names, dates, messages and locations. Errors in approved customer details are not product defects.
If an error is caused by our system or the production process, we will correct or reprint the item as required by law and the Terms of Sale. Details are available on the Personalisation and withdrawal page.
14. Astronomical sources
Star identifiers, coordinates and physical data come from the SIMBAD database managed by the Centre de Données astronomiques de Strasbourg (CDS) and are reused under the applicable ODbL licence. We retain the source and retrieval date for every item of data.
The use of data from these sources does not imply approval, affiliation or collaboration by the bodies that manage them.
