What did the sky look like on that evening?
This photograph reconstructs the stellar background visible above an ideal horizon. Its pixels come from the DSS2 survey; the date, time and place determine which part of the mosaic is shown and how it is oriented.

The story
One evening only: the sky of a date that matters
The sky on a date that matters. Your chosen date, place and time give you a viewpoint on the sky: the chart reconstructs the star field above an ideal horizon. Positions are approximate; you can explore another date without creating a dedication. You chose this date for someone else — keep it to yourself or show them whenever you want. A day only a few people would recognise.

All FAQsWhat exactly is a star dedication?
It is a lasting way to express a memory: we connect the chosen name and date to a real star identified in astronomical catalogues, and retain that association in the A Star For You Private Registry. You receive personalised documents containing the star’s real data. This does not purchase the star or change its scientific designation.
Is the star connected to my dedication real?
Yes. The certificate and dossier show its catalogue identifier, coordinates and constellation. These are the same references used by public astronomical archives, so you can check them independently.
Can a star really be bought or owned?
No. The service does not transfer ownership of a celestial object. You buy a personalised dedication connected to a real star, the content included in the selected offer, and the record of that association in the A Star For You Private Registry.
Are there recurring costs or mandatory extras?
No subscription, renewal or mandatory recurring fee applies. The checkout total is the price of the selected offer, including VAT where applicable, and it is shown for confirmation before payment.
How can I verify A Star For You before buying?
Read what is and is not sold, inspect the astronomical sources and real document examples, compare catalogue prices, review the terms and seller details, and try the verification page. The “What you are buying” page brings these checks together.
